Zeus's head. End of I – II century A.D., found in Milan, near Porta Giovia
One of the most significant cult statues in the museum collection is Zeus’s head, presumably coming from the area of the Sforza Castle. It certainly belonged to a majestic cult statue, Roman copy of the I century A.D., inspired by works of the Athenian sculptor Briasside (Second half of IV century B.C.).
