Milanese statues are characterized by a mixture of the local and the Greek classical styles. The local portrait was naturalistic, colored, with large ears, visible wrinkles, the faces had marked lineages. This style was born from the italic tradition. The classical style, characterized by harmonious and elegant shapes, was appreciated by the upper classes that endeavored to imitate the style of the capital (Rome), so as to be as close as possible to the power’s center.
